Insert for the board game Massive Darkness 2: Hellscape (2022).

We designed the insert to dramatically reduce setup time while also making the components easier to use during play.

The miniatures are stored at the bottom of the box, so you do not have to remove every miniature first just to reach the gameplay components. Card boxes for enemy mobs, roaming monsters, equipment, loot and doors can simply be taken from the box and placed on the table, ready for play.

Tokens are divided between two four-compartment trays. One is used for setup components; the other is used during play for health, mana, treasure tokens and dice.

Insert contents – 22 parts

• 3× Enemy Mob card box, separated by level: 1–2, 3–4 and 5.
• 3× Roaming Monster card box, separated by level: 1–2, 3–4 and 5.
• 1× box for Mob Equipment and starting Equipment cards.
• 1× box for all types of treasure/loot cards.
• 1× box for Skill cards for the 6 heroes.
• 1× box for Hero cards including reference/helper cards.
• 1× four-compartment box for setup tokens.
• 1× four-compartment box for health, mana and treasure tokens plus dice.
• 1× Door-card box.
• 1× box for player, ally and elemental tokens, bases and player markers.
• 1× box for bridge tiles, Elite Enemy cards and Hero dashboard/reference boards.
• 1× card rail for the enemy groups currently in play.
