Officially licensed 3D-printed insert for Kutná Hora: The City of Silver (2023) by CGE (Czech Games Edition).
✅ Features and benefits
This insert turns the inside of the Kutná Hora box into clear, functional storage while reinforcing the atmosphere of the medieval city. The centerpiece is St. Barbara's Cathedral on a practical stand, complemented by smart trays for rights, mines and buildings and easy access to the “paper computers”, coins, pelicans and card decks.
- St. Barbara's Cathedral becomes a striking 3D centerpiece on the table, with its own stand and easy tile removal.
- The “paper computers” are stored assembled together with their cards, without dismantling or complicated setup.
- Smart trays for rights and mine offers can be moved, stacked and stored conveniently in the box.
- Vertical storage without components spilling, thanks to lids and closeable sections.
- Two boxes for coins and pelicans can be placed within easy reach of all players.
- Enough room for sleeved cards, tested with Diamond sleeves, approximately 80 microns.
📦 Parts list
Organizer for cards, rockfall tiles, mining technology and buildings
This organizer remains in the box. It contains three card compartments for Mine / Guild / Event cards. Building tiles are divided into 9 separate trays: 6 guild trays and 3 city-building trays. Red city buildings used in later rounds are stored with the other city buildings.
3 mine-tile trays
Tiles are separated and marked by level: I / II / III.
2 coin and pelican trays with closeable lids
They provide easy access for all players and secure storage without spilling inside the box.
Setup tray
Stores the first-player token, round marker and the tax, patrician and guild value markers. Its lid also forms part of the stand for St. Barbara's Cathedral.
St. Barbara's Cathedral organizer
The lid prevents the tiles from spilling in the box and also forms the lower part of the stand. The layers are shaped for easy tile removal even while the organizer is standing upright. Tiles remain sorted and ready to play; after the game they are simply turned back to the correct side without unnecessary re-sorting.
4 player boxes with lids
Each has three compartments separating buildings, miners and the other components in that player's color. During play the boxes can also be used for coins and pelicans. Cards are placed on top and covered by the lid, which has a small tab for easy opening.
Other insert parts
Most sections are closeable or positioned so that their contents cannot spill, making them ideal for vertical storage. The complete insert consists of 29 parts. Terminology may vary slightly where official translated component names are not available.
📐 Technical details
- Dimensions and compatibility: designed for the standard Kutná Hora: The City of Silver box from CGE with all base-game components.
- Box lid: closes completely without unwanted lid lift; the box can safely be stored vertically.
- “Paper computer” storage: stored assembled and with their cards, so they can simply be removed and used immediately.
- Tray handling: the trays for rights, mines and buildings have a grip tab, can be stacked, and the complete stack fits back into the box.
- St. Barbara's Cathedral: can stand on the table like a picture frame or be used lying flat. Pressing the underside makes a tile easy to remove.
- Sleeved cards: enough clearance for Diamond sleeves, approximately 80 microns.
🎨 Color variants
- Black: everything is black like a mine – a restrained, functional version that saves a few groschen.
- Black + silver: an elegant multicolor version contrasting black and silver. The building trays are transparent/almost translucent, showing the colored tiles inside.
- Medieval mega ultra giga colorful: because both the Middle Ages and the game itself are full of color, this version uses up to 13 different colors to reproduce Kutná Hora's atmosphere on the table.
Choose the version depending on whether you prefer a functional, presentational or strongly thematic look.
🧩 Additional notes
- Card sleeves: tested with Diamond sleeves, approximately 80 microns; keep this standard in mind when choosing your own sleeves.
- Vertical storage: closeable lids and the internal layout allow the box to be stored safely on its side among other games.
- Table organization: building, mine, coin and pelican trays can be moved around the table without spilling, speeding up both setup and cleanup.
